On Thursday, April 25th, Teal Heath, in her role as Board Chair of The Independence Center (Event Bronze Sponsor) had the privilege of attending this year's Patrick Robinson's Chef Showcase at The Antlers, a Wyndham Hotel. The annual showcase, organized by Rocky Mountain Health Care Services (RMHCS), brought together local chefs to compete for Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals, with proceeds benefiting Rocky Mountain PACE, an organization dedicated to serving older adults with chronic care needs in El Paso County.
Participating chefs came from Kariacos Food, Inefable, The Joint, Edelweiss, The Green Line Grill, Odyssey Gastropub, Lumpia Lheas, SSA Group, The Warehouse Restaurant & Gallery, Jax Fish House, Formosa Bites, The Mactory, and McNeil Scout Ranch at Peaceful Valley.
Participating senior living partner chefs joined from Silver Key Senior Services, Bear Creek Senior Living, The Palisades at Broadmoor Park- MBK Senior Living, and Rocky Mountain PACE.
RMHCS partnered with Boonzaaijer's Dutch Bakery to provide delicious handcrafted desserts.
The evening not only highlighted the talents of the chefs but also raised awareness about RMHCS's mission to promote independence by providing accessible services to underserved individuals.
Chef Patrick Robinson, who sadly passed away in 2021, began the Chef Showcase in 2011. This esteemed event was named in his honor, paying tribute to his contributions to the community.
Congratulations to the winners of the showcase: First Place: Inefable, Second Place: Lumpia Lheas, & Third Place: Bear Creek Senior Living
Overall, the evening was a huge success, with attendees leaving inspired by the outstanding food, shared commitment to independent living, and the legacy of Chef Patrick Robinson. The Chef Showcase exemplified the power of food to bring people together for a greater cause.
